Cottbus.
Thank You for photos of this vehicle.
I have a plan to perform model Jagdpanther. I was just thinking on the same vehicle as you.

Greetings to you and I look forward to more of your models.

I modelled the tank before it was abandoned ,tow cables, tools, etc.to add more interest. There are some aspects of the tank I didn't want too apply, but I had too keep it accurate .

you never gave a reason about the tracks. over scale? not the most accurate? they were painted to match actual vehicle?

Hey CB ... very nice piece ... really like your work
Tracks ... ??? ..... tracks look great, no need to defend there!
All weathering, wear and tear is superb.

Tactical numbers and crosses:

Are they dry transfers or decals ?
Did they come with the kit?
If they are aftermarket, can you provide details?

thank you tankindustry, the balkenkreutz are two decals, I trashed all mine trying to apply them to the panther A the black part is from Tamiya 1/25 tiger with the thin white border cut off, the white part is a late white surround only cross that was with the academy kit. set over the top. the 823 is hand painted with a mix of light blue /light grey acrylic's. Made a mess posting the images, hope you can find them.

Great model. I have a lots of fun to look at. Camo and painting is great, the track too.

I would like to explain what Tommy try to say. We talk with him a lot about this mistake in old Acadamy/Tamiya models. Please count teeth on the drive sprocket- just half of correct number. Academy change it in G model and jagdpanther early/late.
Therefore they change separated incorrect links to rubber track. Compare spare plastic links from G and links from A version? Now You see mistake and about it wrote Tommy.

Never mind, don't worry, we prepare 2 version of high qualite tracks to panter together with drive sprocket :attack:

the rubber tracks supplied in academy re-tool kit are awful, that was my last set of Tamiya sprockets and tracks fitted onto academy model, have two panther g's so I'll visit your shop. Yes a misunderstanding.

tommy.if your planning the same tank, I cut out the top engine deck, and replaced it with the deck of my trashed panther g,Also used the rear plate supplied in kit for the flame damper mounts. Cut and filed to fit.

Congratulations on an excellent build. I notice a lot of extra attention to little details on your tank cottbus - things like the spare track brackets & the extra towing clevis with their mounts. Very nice work indeed. Your painting & weathering is of a superior standard too. You have really captured the look of a dusty vehicle that has seen some action. Well done.

The tracks? Meh...... Yes we all know that the early Tamiya/Academy kits got the number of teeth wrong & the rubber tracks are terribble & etc etc etc. But is it really that important? It is simply too expensive to buy 2 complete kits just to make one. So you make do with what you've got. And I think what you've done here looks just fine.

Well Done & looking forward to your next build.

Lappy
